It's Been Far To Long...

Yes, Yes, I know I have no posted anything since July and no I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. Things have gotten sooooo busy around the Donaldson household. Rustin is back at school teaching the kids a little about History, I am back in school (and wow is it NOT like it was when I was 18) football has started, and Graham is now 5 months old and a whopping 18.5 lbs. So needless to say I have not been doing a good job of keeping up with my blog. Not to many important things have happened just have something to do just about everyday! Things are going great even though some times I forget what day it is because they are all running together. Hope everyone had a great Labor Day Weekend. A few snapshots to catch ya up on the Donaldson's!

We started baby food in August!
We got a Jumperoo and Graham loooves this thing!
(But so does Mama and Daddy)

He turned 5 Months on 9/01/2009

Happy Birthday to Me!

Yup tomorrow I turn 24! It's really exciting for me because I think birthday's are a person's very own holiday! Maybe a little childish but oh well! Part of the reason I still make a big deal out of birthday's is because when I was little my family didn't make a big deal out of it, in the words of my Grandmother , " Its just another day, just happens to be when you where born." So ever since I have been old enough to have a birthday party on my own I have! Now that I have Graham birthdays will be a HUGE deal! I want him to know that it is not just another day, it is the day the Good Lord blessed this world with him! This past year has been amazing, if you would have told me 5 years ago that on my 24th birthday I would have a baby and a husband I would have told you that you were crazy. But look at how fast things can change! This has truly been the best year of my life and I know that this will be the best birthday because I have an amazing family to spend it with!

This year will be a little different because we are going to Covington tonight to visit family and get ready for Graham's baby dedication on Sunday. It will be a very important day for myself and for our family. If ya don't know alot about dedications it is a short little ceremony where Rustin and I commit to rasing Graham with the Lord as his main focus! Then our families join us and pledge to help us with the task. Then the congragation joins in with a prayer of blessing and music. I am so happy to be doing this for Graham. It makes it even more special because Rustin's Dad who is the minster will be doing the deidcation! Then after we are having a huge lunch for all of our friends and family! I'm a little stressed about getting everything taken care of but I know I will get it all done! A little trivia for ya I found I was pregnant with Graham on the 19th of July, one year to the day that we are doing his dedication. Isn't that amazing!? Have a great weekend- mine starts right now!

My birthday last year!

Who knew we had a little bundle on the way.....We sure didn't :)

Checking In

Oh my goodness I have been so busy this week it hasn't even been funny! Going back to last Saturday we had a wedding to go to and it was actually very painless lol! It was fun to get out adn have a little adult time without Graham even though on our way back to Oklahoma City from Hydro, Rustin and I both made a comment about how we missed him. Rustin even said he kept looking in the back seat to check on him because he was so used to him being there. So sweet.

My friend Lyndie just bought the house across the street from me and they have been doing a bunch of work on it before they move in. So Monday I helped tear up a floor, move furniture, and paint celings. Oh my goodness I was soooooo sore and tired on Tuesday but we had more work to do then. So all week we have been working on the house and running around like crazy people. It has been fun but alot of hard work.

This weekend we are going to Norman to watch Rustin's little sister in the All State Softball game, which I am so excited to go too! It is a pretty big honor and I know she is really excited. Then it is on to Covington for Father's Day. Its always a little sad for me because my Papa (who raised me) passed away when I was a junior in high school, but I love Rustin's Dad to death so its not quite the same but he is a great subsitute. On a lighter note it will be Rustin's first Father's Day and I am really excited. I need to think of some kind of gift from Graham. Any ideas? So ya things are crazy and busy around here but I am loving every minute of it!

Check out my sweet baby boy and his Daddy!

He Did It!

So yesterday when I posted I mentioned that I thought Graham would roll over soon, and guess what he did. Proabaly at the very moment I was writing about it! It was a very big day for my little man! When Rustin got home he didn't really believe me so at 3:35 this morning when he had rolled over and woken himself up I made sure to get Daddy and let him see for his own eyes how big his little man has gotten. Graham was all smiles like he knew what he had just done. I'm so proud of him! Now I just want to see him do it with my own eyes. And have the camera ready too!

We have a busy weekend ahead. Rustin is in a wedding in Hydro, if you don't know where that is ( I didn't) its way out by Weatherford. Not looking forward to the drive. We are not taking G with us, it would wreck the somewhat of a schedule we have so he is staying the afternoon and evening with his Dede. I am hoping that the wedding doesn't take forever, I'm horrible aren't I?! Well I have to go start supper... Back to duty! :)

Catching Up

I was doing so good at keeping up with my blog then something happened! I don't have a clue what it was but I am wayyyy behind. So this is my catch up!

Graham is two months old now, I cannot hardly believe it. He is getting so big and handsome. I took him to his 2 month appointment last Monday and he weighed 13 lbs and was 24 and 1/2 inches long. I've got a long baby! He is already wearing some 3-6 month clothes. GAH! They grow so stinking fast. But I am not complaining. When we went to the doctor he had to get his first set of shots and can I just say that it was awful. I had to help hold him down and when the first one went in he started crying so hard he turned purple and not to mention I was by myself because Hubby had to work so he couldn't come with me. So then I have a screaming baby and I am trying to carry the car seat, diaper bag, and Graham out into the lobby and of course everyone was looking at me like "What did she do to that poor baby?!" I swear I wanted a sign to hang around my neck that said, " He got shots, I don't beat my child" But we sat down and he got fed and calmed down enough for me to put him in the carseat and come home. He did run a little bit of a fever for two days so that wasn't good either. But he has fully recovered and I made the descion that I would never go to an appointment for shots without reinforcements!

Let's see what else is been going on, oh yes! He is sleeping through the night and not waking up until 7 or 8! It is so amazing to get a full nights sleep. He is also really close to rolling over. Every time he wakes up and I go in his room to get him he is almost got it. So it won't be to much longer.

It has been a really busy few weeks. We had Rustin's sisters high school graduation, then Memorial Day, then Hubby had a bacholeor party, and this weekend we have 2 weddings! But I like being busy and having tons to do. I will leave ya'll with a bunch of pictures from the last few weeks!

Mother's Day

This was my first Mother's Day and I do not think it could have been any better. First because I got to spend it with my amazing family, including my wonderful husband, who I swear is a gift from God. He is amazing as a father and husband. I count my lucky stars every day for him. Also I got to spend it with my newest handsome man, Graham. Rustin got me a singing card which was very cute and I could tell he put some thought into. Graham got me something too. I know you are thinking how can a 6 week old get me something, well he gave me a smile! Yes the first real ( not gas) smile!. He even laughed. It was the greatest Mother's Day gift ever. I'm not sure it will ever be topped. I haven't been able to get him smiling on camera yet ( but its not for lack of trying) but as soon as I do I will post! Promise!!!

Heartsick....

Being a new mom and not really having any close friends that have babies I have decided that I was not fully prepared for the feelings I would have when my baby got sick. Graham has been stopped up the last few days and I assumed it was the weather because I get like that when it rains a bunch, but Monday night and into Tuesday morning it was alot worse you could tell he was struggling. So I called the Dr. she said to go ahead and bring him in with him being so young that anything I might be worried about should be looked at just in case. Again with me being a new mom and I had no idea if I was making a big deal out of nothing or if something was really wrong, needless to say I was a bit emotional yesterday. So we get to the Dr. whom I love by the way, she is so amazing, and she tells us he has an ear infection and a bit of a cold. Okay- I can handle that nothing to serious, gave him some antibiotics and sent us on our way. After running errands and then heading home, he wasjust fussier that ever before. So we decide to go ahead and give him the medicine, the stuff was really thick and he had an issue getting it down. No sooner than I give it to him he throws up and I mean projectile vomit. He looked so wiped out after that. I had never taken care of a kid throwing up and I really had no idea what to do. So I said put him in the bathtub. That seemed to help calm him down and get him a little more relaxed which made me not feel quite as bad. He just wanted to be held which I was completly fine with. You could tell that he did not feel good at all. But thankfully he slept pretty good last night and after I talked to the Dr. again this morning and gave him the medicine again ( this time it stayed down) he is a lot less fussy and is sleeping right now. I'm telling you my heart just aches because I feel like I can't do anything for him. I do not like this feeling at all. I can say now I know what my mother meant when she told me when I was little and sick that I wouldn't know heartache until my own baby was sick. So please if ya think about it say a little prayer for my lil man.

Time is Flying By

I can't believe that it has alreadt been a month since Graham was born, it really blows my mind how fast the time has gone by. It almost makes me want to cry because he is already getting bigger and changing so much. Don't get me wrong I am glad of the 4 hours he is sleeping at a time now and that he is healthy and growing but I can just see him turning 18! LOL I know I know that's a bit extreme but you other Mama's out there you know what I mean. Just look at how big he is getting!

On a lighter note we did have a really great weekend. Went to Covington and saw some family and lots of friends.Rustin's dad got to spend some time with Graham and I really think he is totally in love with his first grandson or as he likes to call him his first "Grahamson" haha It's so cute. The rain didn't seem to hamper any of our plans so that was good. Hopefully the weather will be a little nicer though this week so I can take Lil G out for a walk. I hope everyone is having a great Monday!

Lil G Update

Yesterday was Graham's 2 week appointment and guess what my boy is already 10 pounds and 12 ounces. He has gained a full 2 pounds since he was born. If he keeps this up my child will be a huge! His Daddy would be okay with that though because the first question he asked when we got home was how much he had grown ( in length) I said another 3/4 of and inch. So now he is 22 3/4, Rustin was so excited by that news. He wants Graham to be 6'5 so he can play college football. Yes- my wonderful husband already has life plans for our 3 week old baby. Oh- wow!!

Anyways!!!! I think we are going to actually get a little adult time this weekend, I have been stuck at home ( not that I mind being with Lil G at all) and we haven't got to show him off to our friends so we are thinking that we are going to the City this weekend have dinner with friends and then maybe ( if I can he he) let Lil G stay at his Dede 's house for a few hours while we go out with friends. I dunno if this will all happen or not but I am a bit excited about the idea!

Oh had Graham's newborn pictures taken this past weekend ( thanks so much to Becky) and they turned out soooo great! Here is a lil sneak peak! Have a great Hump Day!
